CMI and SAI Speakers
Local speakers for local people. Not valve, but cool anyhow. These vintage delights were made in the 60's and 70's hotbed of music technology, namely Coppull - the village of the damned. Despite being an insignificant ex-mining village in Lancashire with a population of about six, Coppull had two workshops producing audio equipment. CMI (Chorley Music Industries) - subject of the Sex Pistols song of the same name, and SAI (don't know what that stood for). I've also seen a SAI valve guitar head, a VERY basic model with 2xECC83 and 2xEL34 with the only controls being a volume. I had the misfortune to work with a former SAI grunt, she was unable to give me any useful information about the place, but knew all about caravans and line dancing. Need I say more.
Thanks to that bloke for the semi-permanent loan of the CMI's
