Gawthorpe Hall is a magnificent 17th century house set in formal gardens with many rooms remodelled in the Victorian period by Sir Charles Barry. It was the home of the Shuttleworth family for over 300 years. The period rooms today primarily reflect the Victorian lifestyle of a wealthy aristocratic family supported by a team of servants. |
