as a town house for a wealthy family in the 17th Century, it was bought
in the 1820's as the lodgings for the Assize Judges taking part in trials
at Lancaster Castle. |

floors have been restored and refurbished as an early Victorian town house
where upstairs and downstairs life can be seen and experienced.
