Built as a town house for a wealthy family in the 17th Century, it was bought in the 1820's as the lodgings for the Assize Judges taking part in trials at Lancaster Castle.

The ground and first floors have been restored and refurbished as an early Victorian town house where upstairs and downstairs life can be seen and experienced.

Museum of Childhood - Located on the top floor and looking at all aspects of children's lives in the past. Includes hundreds of dolls, toys, books and games.
Victorian Schoolroom - A reconstruction of a Victorian schoolroom.
