The Museum is housed in Preston's Old Sessions House built in 1825. The displays concentrate on the following periods:

The Victorians - schooldays, health and medicines, crime and punishment and the Victorian soldier.

The First World War - reconstruction of a 1st WW trench and objects from the period.

The Second World War - 2 large galleries - evacuation, rationing, women's work, blackout, shelters etc.

Some changes and additions will be introduced 2002 - 2003.
