'The Flicks' Reminiscence Project was a grant-aided venture by cinema and local history enthusiasts with the involvement of broadcasters Brian Forbes and Judy Merry. Interviews were recorded about people's memories of rural cinemas in the district of Chorley, Lancashire. The interviews were edited down, categorised and compiled into a 60 minute CD.

'The Flicks 2 - Reminiscences of Chorley Town Cinemas' is now complete. We took over 25 hours of recorded interviews and digitally edited the material down onto a 70 minute CD. The clips were split into various categories interspersed with period organ music and introduced by the broadcaster Judy Merry. Included was an 8-page booklet containing brief histories of the 6 cinemas which once existed in the town.
Excerpts from the CD were featured on Radio 4's 'Home Truths' programme with John Peel.
The general design theme for this project was the Art Deco style of 1930's cinemas.
We also created a portable exhibition for the project featuring the history of cinema in Chorley with reproductions of archive photographs and printed material.
The exhibition was displayed the in local library, used for the launch of the CD as well as being displayed at a Heritage Lottery reception at the Conservative Party conference in Blackpool in 2003.
