Lancashire Museums Service

Lancaster Museums Service

This site was redesigned two years after we did the original to give it a fresh look to reflect the increasing importance and changing role of the site to the establishment.

The site was used to publicise exhibitions, events, wedding services, education and outreach programmes and to promote associated groups. It features a continuously expanding catalogue of the Hall's collections.

An enquiries form is featured which means staff spent much less time dealing with telephone calls.

The site has now been absorbed into the borough council's own site.

Totally redesigned after dissatisfaction with the previous site by another company, Imagined is the site for The Lancashire Museums Education Cluster Group consisting of representatives from sixteen museums and galleries.

It served to promote Educational activities to teachers and schools via a series of brief summaries accessible through various menus, including a Java drop-down menu.

The site complies fully with NOF and Bobby guidelines for accessibility as requested in the site brief.

The site is no longer in use.

The Lancaster Museums Service site was designed to give both pre and post visit support to school parties.

It provided advice to teachers on planning and preparing children for visits

Post-visit support is in the form of on-line stories told by various characters from the past.

Worksheets in PDF format can be downloaded and printed out for use in class.

The site is no longer in use due to the takeover of Lancaster museums service by Lancs CC.
