Stolen from John Winter

Procedure for replacing shock absorbers on your Saab 95 with Konis.

The conversion goes like this

  1. Get 2 Konis 80-2540 and 2 strong 12mm (width) bolts.
  2. Remove the arm lever shocks and the mounting plates (3 nuts per plate).
  3. Remove the steel bush at the shock mounting points on the axle.
  4. Drill a hole at an appropriate point (see picture) on the mounting plates to fit a 12mm bolt.
  5. Grind the bolt heads to a little under 5mm thickness (there's about 5mm play behind the mounting plates).
  6. Fit a steel bush on the 12mm bolts to give the shocks enough clearance from the mounting plates.
  7. Fit the mounting plates and the shocks.
  8. The 12mm bolts could be welded to the mounting plates but this is not necessary.

I haven't tried this yet, but am told it works.
