Project 95 V4 - Day ??
5th September 2003
I'm just waiting for a cash injection (Ah the joys of self-employment) then it's off to the blasters to get the body stripped. I still need to remove the glass and bits of the interior. Next port of call is a young man who has kindly offered to do the welding for me at a reasonable price.
I recently paid a visit to the chap who is building my engine. Some progress has been made. The block has been bored out to 94mm which will give around 1850cc. He has also had the crank reground.
On order are a set of (4) V6 conrods which are a bit meatier than the standard V4 ones and a set of (4) V6 oversized 94mm pistons. These are 'squeezecast' pistons. They are stronger than standard cast but not as good as forged (but a lot cheaper). I'm not planning on doing any serious racing, so I shouldn't have any problems with these blowing up on me.
'Miaow! So the true meatiness of yo engine begins to
become clear!'
